Now you are frustrated because you have come to the end of your natural ability to know me. But this is just the beginning!! You are now ready to take the leap of faith to my side of the chasm between my ways and your ways. Don’t try anymore. Just listen.
This is truely JIM or JIY (in this case, right B-Marie?) If you get a chance, I posted today's journal under noteworthy journals on the site. Kind of along these lines too.
He sure knows how to "undo" or "unravel" us doesn't He? I'm so glad He's God and we're not!
Love,
Jaque
Living 'loved' by keeping myself in His love… Jude 21
Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for all that you have written. It truly has been a tool that God has used to inventory my heart. In fact, I didn't journal on Saturday or Sunday, because I was afraid of God pointing out my wrongs. I was all for God pointing out her's…different story when I'm the one in trouble.
But, I got up super early this morning to do the days that I missed…and what a surprise to find the comforting arms of God, wrath included, awaiting me…not the bending over the knee that I let the devil convince me of. How many times do we have to be taught before we "get it?" I can picture God upon his throne knocking on my melon, "Think McFly Think!" …but I praise God that He is willing to teach it over and over, as many times as it takes.
Sorry, I couldn't resist the video tribute.
What surprises me is that I feel like God may be leading me out of this position. I am still working this through, so I'm not ready to declare one thing or the other. I pondered my pride, thinking that if I quit now, then she will think she was successful in "getting rid of me." Then I'm reminded that I don't care what she thinks. If He is indeed leading me on to something else, it will be over a course of time, when He has provided the right person to replace me.
…But I asked God why He would put me in a place, only to take me out so quickly before things really get going. In my journal He says:
I know that your heart is in a state of hurt and you’re wondering if I led you or if you misheard My voice and you’ve ended up in a place you don’t belong. Fear not, for even if this may be temporary, you are right where I want you. Jump starting this fire with the fuel I’ve soaked you in. An accelerant [you] is used to get a fire going, but I am the eternal flame that will never be snuffed out.
What a joyful revelation to know that God uses me as lighter fluid!!! I loved it! I'm the Lord's can of Zippo!!! How cool is that?
You’ll never know Christ is all you need, until Christ is all you got!
Oh Belinda, I love the humour in the midst of a very difficult situation! Thanks for sharing the McFly clip, that will resonate with me for a while. and I love the zippo can illustration too. Father is SO good and learning this lesson that He is always there for us with grace, love, revelation, helping us to see from His perspective while at the same time warning and pushing us along, is the KEY to life for this is TRUST in God's goodness. It keeps us running to Him at all times no matter what. Learn to hide from Him in Him! Hearing His voice through anything is what gets and keeps us firmly in the right place, He renews our minds and also trains our hearts in His love. Oswald says our entire journey into reality is practised by repeatedly returning our eyes to Christ. Otherwise we become overwhelmed by our circumstances (and other people!). We have to listen to the voice of God above the noise of the wind and the waves of our circumstances in order to keep walking on the water.
Listening to God's voice in Scripture doesn't put us in the position of having infallible opinions. It puts us where it put Jesus himself: in possession of a vocation, whether for a lifetime or for the next minute. (NT Wright)
He puts us where He wants us and sometimes it may only be for a shorter period than we anticipated. Again, only you will know this and only because you are listening to God as you go, obeying step-by-step. If your thinking goes off track, He'll warn you. We don't know what we think we know. All we can do is obey the next directive. To use a Biblical illustration about obedience: When He in effect says, 'fill the water jars to the brim' and we do so, giving all we have for Him, its up to Him then to turn that water into wine. All we can give is water in water out, thats the sum of our personal efforts! But God is in the miracle business and if you have been obedient to His directives, you can trust Him to do the miraculous. Filling the jar to the brim is the point of all your obedience. Its God who turns water into wine. You can't do more than obey and pour out to the brim, then leave the rest to Him. Pleasing Him must be your only motivation, and in the process of pouring yourself out to the brim, you yourself will find and drink that true wine of intimate friendship with God.
I know that He will talk you through this and that He is using it all as part of His plan to mature you more and more into the image of Christ.
You are so sweet. I like what God is doing in your life and, I too, enjoy your humor. How do you find such great You-Tubes videos? Is that easier than doing the math? (11+1=?) Cute
Sara, you said:
All we can give is water in water out, thats the sum of our personal efforts! But God is in the miracle business and if you have been obedient to His directives, you can trust Him to do the miraculous.
It's so simple isn't it? If we stay in our vocation it would be much easier to just relax and enjoy His rest! (duh–that's often harder than doing the math!)

I'm not understanding the use of the word, "vocation" in these two quotes. Does it mean "job" here?
