Suzanne Aguilera, Whittier, California

Suzie has an unparalled heart of compassion and empathy toward others.  She possesses a natural ability to "cry with those who cry, and laugh with those who laugh."  With Suzie, you always sense that she is feeling what you feel...which makes her very approachable.  She listens to learn.  Suzie was an assistant VK for years because she wasn't sure she'd make a good VK.  We already knew she'd be a great VK because she already was one in her heart! She just had to break the barrier.  Now, she runs with the vision and is a shining example of perseverance...and as Jaque always says, "Persistance is greater than genius!"  Now let's hear from Suzie...

Michele Banas, Joshua Tree, California

Michele possesses a wonderful balance between practicality and sensitivity.  She is a straight-forward communicator with an ability to see life from different angles and perspectives.  Michele is a wife and a home-school mom who became a Visionkeeper to facilitate our courses in a cozy home environment.  Michele is tender-hearted and giving, possesses a great sense of humor, and has a rare talent for making people of all walks of life feel comfortable.  Here's a few words from Michele...

My desire to become a Visionkeeper was initially a way for me to include my family in the class structure so they would be able to see how wonderful Visionwriters is. The Lord has really worked within the hearts of each of us.  He gave me incredible grace to let go and to "keep it simple." By obediently following His lead and becoming a VK, (even though I had my doubts) I have seen His growth in me, Eric, and our 2 boys, Ethan and Cole.  We are each learning to choose Christ as our life more and more.  The Lord has proven that even my children can benefit from Visionwriters...I just had to be willing to give it a try!

Susan Broyles, Independence, California

Susan Broyles is an example of tenacity and character.  She has the Lionheart of God and inspires others with her direct approach to life and living.  She is sincere, honest, loyal, practical, and profound in her ability to cut through to the "heart of the matter."  Susan is also a lot of fun!  Her ability to laugh at herself and the world around her always makes our life brighter.  We are grateful for this divine connection made so many years ago.  He humbles us with the quality of people He's chosen as the hub of Visionwriters International.   Now let's hear from Susan:

"God speaks.  He is the all powerful and mighty Creator and yet He has chosen to be available for tender and intimate relationship through Christ, His Son.  Jesus opened the door and made a clear pathway.  I've found the wisdom of having a strategy for hearing from Him daily.  Through the tool of journalizing, He's proven Himself to be all He says He is, and more than enough!  I've tasted God as He is presented in this particular class structure and found Him to be more than I could have hoped for.  I use these tools, for He's proven them an excellent means for keeping Him first in my life.  Truth be known, God placed me in Visionwriters. Conventional church helped me grow a little, but inside I was crying for something more.  I needed God to guide me through the process of living, and accountability with people who would love and except me as I am. Coming from a torn past, I needed people who would never forsake me.  My elders and co-laborers at Visionwriters never pretend to be the answer or to know my answers for me; but they know the Answer and always lead me to find my own answer in Him.  Left to myself, I had a hit and miss relationship with God.  With Visionwriter's tools, I have a daily structure that works.  The Lord intends to speak directly into our lives each day.  I am a lucky partaker and am compelled to give Him all of me and to share what I've received with others.  With Him as the center, restoration is a surety for everyone."

Lee Bryan, Sumter, South Carolina

Lee Bryan is a deep well who lives life more deeply than most.  This can bring pain but it also brings deeper levels of joy.  Lee's countenance reflects an inner pool of strength and peace.  Her ability to engage in meaningful conversation makes others feel significant in her presence.  With a heart for excellence and practical training as an editor, Lee aids our endeavor to reach for excellence in our printed materials. We appreciate who she is.  Let's hear from Lee..

I believe God asked me to become a Visionkeeper.  I know for myself, personally, the difference it's made to learn to hear from God Himself, His heart to mine.  It is a process that has effected so much growth and change in me that I can't help but believe it is also the answer for many others.  He helps me see logically and keeps me in the Truth; He's faithful to convict and I'm learning to be faithful to run to Him.  Journalizing is the discipline of sitting quietly in God's presence, meditating on His Word, shutting out distractions, laying my mental lists and nagging thoughts on the altar and purposing to BE with Him, trusting Him, and listening to what His Spirit would say to my heart. Since He holds all the wisdom and the answers, I'm confident that as I pursue Him, He'll equip me and use me as He sees fit.

Belinda Caldwell, Twentynine Palms, California

Belinda is thorough and diligent in all she does.  She has a simple, strong faith in God, a deep concern for others and a very loving nature.  She desires to share Visionwriters with others in order to see them set free from a religious minset as she has been.  Her transformation is evident.  Though she has always had the ability to hear from God, she was stuck in a rule keeping mode and had lost His joy.  All that has changed and she exudes confidence and joy by abiding in the Vine.  Here's Belinda...

I desire to be in God's presence as much as possible.  I believe He wants us all to be Visionkeepers, leading others to a deeper knowledge and experience of Christ.  This, to me, is His call to go into all the world making disciples of all nations.  I believe there are thousands, probably millions of Christians in the same position I was in before I was led to Visionwriters.  I want to show them that Jesus is still here and the joyful, abundant life is still an offer if they will be hungry enough to seek it.  I believe in the structure God gave to Visionwriters and that following the strategy will accomplish the goal of guiding people in the process of learning to believe.  I want to see and experience all of God in all of me on a daily, minute by minute basis.  As far as I'm concerned, there's no looking back, only forward to more of Him living through me.

Lillianne Fehrenbacher, Citrus Heights, California

Lily inhales life and exhales joy.  She has a knack for converting an ordinary day into fun!  It doesn't take much time in her presence to convince you that life's menu is filled with delight. Lily makes my heart glad, she inspires me to look at the world with wide eyes of wonder.  Lily is demonstrative...her demeanor invokes a brighter outlook from those she meets.  She demonstrates her Christianity with an exuberance that convinces others to enjoy the life God has given them.  Combine all that with a heart that is able to quickly connect with the joy and sorrow of others and you have one awesome Visionkeeper!  Let's hear a few words from Lily...

Marguerite Hickox, Jacksonville, North Carolina

Marguerite is an oak.  She is a direct communicator with a wry sense of humor.  Marguerite is a loyal team player who has been a faithful co-laborer with Janice Redford.  If you get to visit their class you will see a shining example of team leadership with a perfectly complimented pair of Visionkeepers.  Marguerite is solid, stable, and has a big heart for giving and helping others. Here's a word from Marguerite...

I consider it a privilege to be a Visionkeeper and bring others to the joy of knowing God in such a personal way.  I thank God for your faithfulness to follow His directives so that I and many others could be blessed. When I look around the church, those who are bolder and more involved [than I] have been touched by Visionwriters classes either briefly or for a prolonged period of time.  I rejoice in God's plan to draw His people into closer relationship with Him through the avenue of journalizing.  I can't begin to express how much Visionwriters means to me, but it has changed my life entirely.  As a Visionkeeper, I am continually blessed to see God's work changing lives and increasing all our faith.  At times I look at our small numbers here and wonder if we are fialing to do our job, but then I see how God calls whom He will.  It is not about us, but about Him.  Our close, small group allows for an intimacy and sharing that a large group might not allow.  I trust God's faithfulness to draw others to us.  For now, I'm grateful He calls me and grows me up in him!

Doret LeVert, Hacienda Heights, California

Doret LeVert is a pearl of great price.  A close friend and comrade with Visionwriters International for over 20 years, Doret holds a unique perspective.  She has watched the hand of the Lord perfect the ministry even as He continued to perfect each of us who are committed to this work.  There's a special bond that occurs when people make it through the thick and thin of things, and we are grateful to share this bond with Doret.  She is filled with the grace and dignity of our Lord...a lady indeed.  Enjoy a word from her heart...

I made a commitment to facilitate classes at my church.  The desire was there, but the thoughts of completing it seemed challenging and unrealistic. God knows the beginning from the end and I soon realized my part was to trust Him.   Spiritual growth was enhanced and heightened.  My confidence in the God I serve has increased and nothing prevented my presence in class each week. I'm learning to love with His love and to be patient with myself and others.  I used to feel I had little to contribute but God's anointing is for the "whosoeverwills" and I'm one of them. As a Visionkeeper I feel I am investing in God's Kingdom.  The rewards far outweigh the obstacles.  The changes I see in the student's countenance and as they experience personal relationship with God through their journals is priceless. I so appreciate the support of this ministry.  There are times when I feel as though I am being stretched thin and pulled like taffy. Praise God, I am a survivor and a lifetime learner. Today, I am a product of God's graciousness, faithfulness and love.

Sara McDaniel, Okinawa, Japan

Sara McDaniel is a standard for excellence in the body of Christ.   She is caring and compassionate, the kind of friend any friend would want to have. Here's the distinction - Sara is a true disciple.  She is humble enough to submit to the truth she hears in others, and to submit the truth she has for others. She is a comrade, and her love challenges us to be all we can be. Let's hear from Sara...

Visionwriters, God, and I converged in 1992 at a Hawaiian military chapel retreat.  The result was an epiphany.  A religious upbringing had preceded my youthful rebellion, and now at 32, I was desperate to know that God still loved me.  I ached to hear Him myself, but Jaque's concept that God could speak through my own pen was so extreme that I was afraid to try for fear that my pen would hear "me" and not Him.   God ran to me that day, reaffirming His love, healing my guilt, and revealing an opportunity to bear fruit for His kingdom.  I now had a tool to help me recognize His voice and progressively grow more intimately acquainted with Him.  Previously, I heard about Him through His Word, and others' sermons.  Now I know Him.  I no longer fear; He is my True Love.  He encourages, enlightens, and disciplines me, answering questions, renewing my mind, and shaping my attitudes into His vision, constantly increasing my love for Him. God grew me into a Visionkeeper (VK) in 2003, so that I could share His love, joy and intimacy with others wherever I go.  It's an awesome reward to watch as God reveals Himself to others.  So many don't realize that God is speaking!  The Visionwriters community builds deeper personal relationships with God through a unique structure of focused discipline and accountability to maximize effect.  To borrow a phrase from Eugene Peterson, "We engage in a life that is permeated by the presence and companionship of the resurrected Jesus in the company of friends."  Visionwriters opened the window of my mind revealing the wonder of our awesome God.  As a VK, my joy is multiplied by the lives that He touches through His ministry.

Janice Redford, Jacksonville, North Carolina

Janice is filled with rare grace and a gentile nature.  Paradoxically, she is a bold intercessor with a prophetic edge.  She delivers a word given by God to whom ever it is intended with confidence and compassion.  Janice is kind.  That's not that common in this society.  She is persistent and we appreciate her endurance and stamina to keep up the good fight of faith. Here's Janice...

The ache of my heart was, “I am missing it.” I could never do things well enough to be who I was supposed to be. I thought achievement would make me pleasing to God, so I tried harder, only to repeatedly fail and be reminded of my inadequacy. In this cycle of failure, I became critical and judgmental toward myself and others.Visionwriters taught me to journalize His word so I could hear what God was saying to me everyday.  Through this practice, I have experienced His goodness for myself, which built a foundation of personal trust.  My heart is filled with hope and joy. I can hear, receive, and obey His words.  I learned to hear Him through the structure of Visionwriters.  Now I walk in a relationship where I am increasingly more aware of His love for me.

Amanda Reynolds, Yucca Valley, California

Amanda is a discerning and gifted writer.  She faithfully works out her own salvation and labors to enter the true rest.  Amanda is compassionate and possesses a tenderness of conscience that leads her to victory in all things.  She is perceptive, and has an exceptional voice with a heart for worship.  Amanda's ache for those who are in need of love makes her an extraordinary Visionkeeper.  Let's hear from Amanda...

My favorite thing about Visionwriters is that we aren't looking to change people ourselves but that through intimate relationship with God each one is inevitably changed.  As a Visionkeeper, I am learning to disciple believers to become who they really are in Christ.  I help to awaken them to the truth of this journey called life which is an inward journey of the heart.  We see the fruit of the inward seed of Christ becoming an outward manifestation of fruit in our lives.  As we learn to see Christ within, He shows us all that we allow to hinder us, to limit our existance, or to promote bondage instead of freedom.  In His presence, all of our hiding places are exposed and He shines light on the dark places.  Little by little, day by day, we are becoming who we truly are.  I thank God that I am eternally becoming my true self.  As I know myself I become a light to all who are lost.

Kathy Schinhofen, Yorba Linda, California

Kathy began as a student, became a Visionkeeper, then began incorporating these principles into her own life's message. Now  Kathy is a ministry leader in her own right. She and her husband Steve teach on marriage and continue to lead couples to the counsel of the Holy Spirit through journalizing.  Kathy is an avid supporter of Visionwriters.  She is vivacious and generous in her love for others.  A true product of the product, Kathy is a lighthouse to many.  Let's hear from Kathy...

God has burned the desire in me to share this ministry with others.  I feel it is so important to live what you share and I am a student whose life was totally healed and changed by Visionwriters. It saved my marriage.  I always longed for consistency in my relationship with God but would not have learned how to be consistent without the Visionwriter cornerstones of discipline, accountability, relationship, and community.  To me, accountability is closely knit together with consistency.  You won't have one without the other.  Visionwriters gave me a means to be accountable and consistent which has allowed me to bear much fruit.  I am eternally grateful.  This vision is burned into my heart.

Rhonda Stowers, Diamond Bar, California

Rhonda is determined to know God and to walk away from all that is false.  She has a caring heart and easily develops a good rapport with others.  Rhonda is a comforting person to know.  She empathizes with others and possesses a keen intellect with a distinct ability to articulate the truth with clarity.  It's easy to open up with Rhonda.  She conveys a safety that is nothing short of Christ.  Here are a few words from Rhonda...

I see the value in this ministry So many people I have talked to over the course of my Christian walk are frustrated and discouraged.  They want to really know and experience the love of God in their lilves but nothing they knkow to do seems to be working for them.  The strategy and tools of journalizing work.  Journalizing is a tool for a spedier recovery.  Our souls are sick and in need of the attention of God's Word, the comfort of His love, and the nourishment of His healing presence.  Visionwriters provides a habitat for growth.  In community we learn and grow.  Outside of community we wither and die. This is a safe place to allow the false self to die and to allow the true self, Christ in me, to grow up and live.

Amba Temple-Hipp, Yucca Valley, California

Amba is more than a VK - she's the shining example that God uses to remind us to "keep it simple."  She has a depth of spirit that is expressed with such simplicity that the complexities of life are silenced.  Amba arrives at the practical application of her relationship with God with greater ease than most.  And she possesses a quick wit that keeps a smile on our face!  In her own words...

"When I came to Visionwriters, I was saved and doing service, but I kept saying, "Something is missing."  I needed more. I didn't want another meeting or to hook up with more people to do more works - I just wanted more of Him in a real way. When a friend pushed me to go to a class Jaque was teaching I was unprepared for the impact it was to make on my life. Within the first minutes I heard what my soul was longing for - truth that was not preached at me but shared with me - and an invitation to participate in my salvation through journalizing. I was not at all disciplined.  In fact, I was out of order in most aspects of my life. The idea of taking on a discipline like this was a huge step, but these people were different; they were vibrant and alive even when they were going through the pain of growth. I recognized "realness" and wanted it for myself. I entered my first course and my journals and homework were erratic.  I persisted in showing up and through His words of love and correction I have grown. I am not even recognizable to myself anymore - I am new."

Cyndi VanMeter-Smith, Orange, California

Cyndi is a trooper who fights to see through blinded eyes until her vision is clear and purpose is renewed. She is not faint-hearted.  She wrestles with the truth until it is her own.  When others are giving up, Cyndi is hanging tough.  After every battle she faithfully picks up the pieces of her hope and returns to the only One Who can mend it. In the end...she wins!  Here's what Cyndi has to say...

"Being a Visionkeeper has helped me see that there is always more to reach for in Christ.  Staying in the process is creating new habits that are taking over the old ones.  A new life style replaces the old.  New thoughts and new ideals have brought me to new places.  I am living from one revelation to another.  I am tried everyday but the structure I'm in helps me to turn, repent, and practice the truth God reveals.  The illusory voice of the (false) self is becoming faint. I am learning how to war and when to war; when to speak up and when to be quiet.  I am determined to remain faithfully His first and foremost.  I receive more discipline than I could without the structure of Visionwriters.  It is my life saver.  Jesus is the Boat.  My life saver brings me safely back to the Boat anytime I drift too far.  It keeps me floating above the water and holds me accountable to "get back in the Boat!" And so I do!  I am called to higher ground and I rest knowing He is the faithful One in me."

Carrie Wood, Okinawa, Japan

Carrie is an ordained minister who possesses many leadership qualifications.  Her husband, Glen, is a military chaplain and together they are a team devoted to building their church community.  Carrie's aim is to be "real" and to draw others to Christ by shining the light of His real presence into their lives.  Carrie is an excellent teacher, carries a prophetic edge, and has a passion for the Lord that is rarely seen.  She has experienced great joy over finding new depths of spiritual growth by hearing His voice on a more personal basis and honors the Lord by leading others to do the same.  Here's a word from Carrie...

As a student of Visionwriters I have come to realize that my qualifications for tasks have nothing to do with me and everything to do with Christ in me.  My efforts to be a good Visionkeeper would be fruitless.  However, submitting to Christ in me, there can be an outpouring of Him.  The joy and excitement I have from diving deep into the good things God has for me are contagious.  As I journalize daily, my passion grows and my delight in God and His Word is giving way to endless opportunities to share with others.  My hearts desire is to share this joy, this hope, and to see people come into the reality of God's presence in their lives.  My greatest desire in ministry has always been to show people what belongs to them in Christ.  Too often people receive Christ as their Savior and then wander aimlessly trying to figure out the Christian life.  This [Visionwriters] is a way to show them the treasures that God has for them in His Word - all the wonderful, life-changing riches of His Kingdom life.
