Jaque Banas, Yucca Valley, CA
Scripture Reference: Matthew 6:19-34
Jaque, it is the Spirit that causes you to know and you do know what to do when you listen. Your body speaks My spiritual language for I am written in your DNA. Listen! You know! And this knowing is what you must live by. This is the knowing of faith. The problem isn’t in not knowing the problem is in not listening. You believe, so why wouldn’t you listen? Wake up now and listen! You believe I’m here? Listen!
Don’t run from My voice. Just listen. Listen for the knowing voice. Take the pause between stimulus and response and listen. Give me time. Take those pauses. Slow down all of your actions and listen. In the stillness you will realize that you have the mind of Christ. He’ll do the listening and the hearing and the speaking for you. Let this be your treasure! You want to hear more than anything else that you want in the whole world. So Listen.
There in your heart I will speak and My words will make your eyes good. You’ll have delight in My answers, and obedience for you will be sweet. With Me at the helm of your life like this you’ll never have anything to worry about. I’ll tell you all that you need to know. And what I don’t speak about, you don’t need to worry about, though countless others around you may be worrying.
Don’t worry about what I’m not saying. Simply obey what you know I am saying. When there is silence in Me, wait. Where there seems to be no answer, only silence, then that is My answer! Don’t ever worry about your life. It belongs to Me. My voice and you’re ability to hear it is everything to you. Don’ worry! I’ll take care of you. I want you to see those words on the billboard of the world! See them every time you pass a billboard. Don’t worry! I’ll take care of you! These are my words to you! I want you, Jaque, I want your heart free from worry. Listen to Me. Don’t worry. I’ll take care of you.
Lord, Father, Christ and Spirit! All I’ve ever wanted in the whole world is to hear You. The sound of your voice makes me know that I’m safe. Georgia Helms, Raleigh, NC
Scripture Reference: Colossians 1:13-23
Lord, I still don’t understand why you love us so much that you, the Creator and Sustainer, would become one of us and allow us to torture and kill you. That is SO amazing – You must see something I don’t see!
(Laughter) Yea! I must! Beloved laugh-provoker, I see potential! I see Myself! There is great potential for love, for acts of kindness and heroism and courage and faith. Faith is what gets me excited – that’s when I want to jump through the veil and reveal my glory! Beloved Georgia, I love to love. I AM love. I look for someone I can lavish my love upon without corrupting them. I search for those whose eyes are turned toward Me, whose heart beats with mine, and who love not their lives even unto death. Will you come, Beloved? Will you follow me? Will you love me more than life? Beloved, I receive you. You are mine. Sealed. Done. Finished. The grace I give is for now – today. Don’t let the enemy cause you to fear the future. When tomorrow comes, I will be there with you. Trust me now, receive my love, and with it my promise to always be with you- now and forever.
Scripture Reference: Galatians 2:20 KJV
I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. The old sinful Georgia who is an enemy of God is dead and gone. She no longer exists. I have been made new by the power of the Holy Spirit – I am a new creation. This new creation does not live for herself – she is not independent from God like the old Georgia was. No, the very life of God is in her and empowers her to live this life in the power of the resurrection. She abides and finds her home in Christ, and He abides and lives in her, and so does the Father. As Christ lives in her, He gives life to her mortal body and becomes one with her. She is in Him and He is in her. His thoughts become her thoughts. His desires are her desires. He loves her and she loves him and delights to do His will (obedience). He never leaves or abandons her and she finds safety and security in Him. Her identity is in Him as well – this is what she was made for! When she wants direction, she listens to her heart, because He is there – His words are written on her heart. And she trusts Him to prompt her if lies or deceptions try to sneak in. He is the Truth and He leads her into all Truth. She no longer “tries” to live a Christian life. Christ in her expresses Himself through her and she finds herself being Christ to others. She loves them with His love, is moved with His compassion, and speaks His words of life to them.
Why then, do I still experience temptation?
Temptations are signals of areas where my mind has not yet been renewed. When I am thinking Christ’s thoughts, I want what He wants, but if what I am wanting is outside the realm of love, there must be a deception behind it. Lord, lift me out of this slimy muck and set my feet on The Rock!
Yes Beloved, temptations come as a result of independent thinking, and Eve had those independent thoughts in the garden before sin entered. The temptation to think independently is not a sin, but if independent thinking is entered into, that’s when sin occurs. Eve was tempted, she chose independence, and fell into sin. This is how the enemy comes to my people to steal, kill, and destroy – if he can get them into independent thinking, they will fall. But as you live in Me and I live in you, My life flows though you and fruit is produced, the joy of union grows so that independence is no longer inviting. That’s why it’s good to repent right away if you do find yourself in sin. If you try to make up for it, or fix it, it only deepens the independent thinking patterns. It’s time to form a new track that far supercedes the old one of striving. This new track is the path we walk together, I in you and you in Me. It’s the path of joy and love and laughter. Then you’ll wonder why someone would choose the old ways of death when they can have life and pleasures forevermore at My right hand. It’s only because they choose to believe a lie. Scripture Reference: John 15:4-5 MSG
Note: This is a journey and while I think that I have a beginning of relief, I'm sure there's more to come. There were several things that came through in this course (Miracle in the Mirror) that heavily impacted my perspective about me and my place with the Lord. I've boiled it down to four main ideas:
1) In lesson 1, Jaque said, "You are free when…you work out that fact that you are what you don't like about others."
2) "We are in God's story, not the other way around."
3) In my journal the Lord said to me: "Why can't you do what you want and stop doing what you don't want? Because you are not an independent self! You don't realize that in accepting this new life, you've given up your wants and wills. In entering into service, in My kingdom, you've laid down your life and taken up Christ's. Christ's life was/is about My will, it is about effecting My policies and desires and not yours. You want to change and improve yourself, but really you need to see that the significant changes have already been made and you will gradually begin to see the full extent."
4) Isaiah 10:15, in the Message it says, "Does an ax take over from the one who swings it? Does a saw act more important than the sawyer? As if a shovel did its shoveling by using a ditch digger! As if a hammer used the carpenter to pound nails!"
I'm not the pilot, I'm not even the co-pilot, I'm the plane. And all my attempts at self-improvement are the equivalent of flipping on my own auto-pilot. Worrying about all the nuances of my personality that I dislike is the vain imaginings that keep me distracted from doing the will of God. And in seeing that, it's becoming easier to stop beating myself up and just let that stuff go and focus on the Lord. Carrie Wood, Okinawa, Japan
Scripture Reference: Ephesians 3:12, 16-19 NLT
Yes, child, it is vast. Imagine the oceans of the earth. Now, dive in and try to experience every square foot of the oceans. Try to explore every underwater cave, crevice, valley. Try to see every creature and not only see them but know everything about them - what they eat, their body systems, their required habitats. Try to examine all the species of plant life that grows in the oceans. Explore all the ocean currents and understand all the creatures who rely on them and why. Are you understanding, Carrie? Truly understanding?
MY LOVE is limitless, there is always more to explore, experience, know. Come to Me, knowing I love you, simply, without fear of rejection, come to Me. I AM here, always. My home is yours, you are living in My kingdom and NOW is part of eternity, you are in the midst of it. You mustn't wait until death to begin eternity or to begin kingdom life. Live now!
Swim in My currents of love, grace peace, liberty, joy, wisdom, and understanding. Let the Holy Spirit be your guide - yes, silly one, like Jacques Cousteau - through My magnificent kingdom introducing you to more and more life. Dive deep, dear one, for you will find untold treasures in My depths, treasures that I long for you to find, to explore, to claim, to use, to share. Put on My mask, dear one, so you can see the wonders, breathe in from the unending supply of Holy Spirit air. Your wet suit is your physical flesh, just a shell around the living spirit - that is where the life is, INSIDE the wetsuit. The spirit moves the flesh, much like the body moves the wetsuit, not the other way around. But it is Me who provides that spirit inside the flesh (the wetsuit) with the life-giving air, with power. I enable you to move forward and I put in you a desire to learn more. You regulate the depths, Carrie, by how much you choose to explore, by how often you go diving, by how often you choose to merely snorkel. Dive deep and find My treasure, dive deep and know ME.
I love the diving deep. I choose to not merely stay on the surface "snorkeling" but to put on His mask, breathe in His air supply and explore His depths. They are unfathomable and unending, an eternal treasure hunt!!! Lee Bryan, Sumter, South Carolina
Scripture Reference: John 7:37-38 NKJV
Lee, I am the River. When you struggle against the current, fearful to let go and fighting to hang on, you delay the inevitable. My Spirit is causing you to will and to work for My good pleasure. Sometimes My River runs deep and quiet, sometimes it crashes through rocky rapids, but it's always the same River. Only the conditions of the river bed change, which makes for an adventure, but always, Lee, the River is Me. Once you've entered My Water you rest by letting Me carry you where I will. Trust Me, I will not harm you or take you any place that will harm you. Don't be afraid to be saturated by Me.
Lee, sometimes the releasing of your "self" can feel as though it will kill you, but the only thing that is dying is the lie of a separate self. The "self" you want to protect - all that you identify as "you" - is the lie, the illusion, and it dies as you relax into Me, the River. When you feel afraid, don't look to the river bank for safety. Even if you could catch the banks you don't see what I see - that the area beyond the river is where true danger exists. That is where you experience separation from the River. It appears safer at times because the former beliefs and the familiar lies that once held you still call to you at times. But look to Me, concern yourself with the rhythm, flow, and music of the River. Listen only to Me.
Lord, You are the Water, super saturated with oxygen, that taken into myself enables me to fully experience the River, although it may feel scary taking it in.
Yes, Lee, taking in more of Me [identifying with Me] seems scary for the fear of death is so loud. Trust, let go, let that super oxygenated water into your lungs, and you'll find, to your delight, not death but greater life. You'll discover an ability to experience our union more fully. You're in the water and the water is in you, like a fish!
The fear of letting go is based on a lie as is all fear. Your enemy says "preserve yourself" but now you can see there is no self to preserve apart from Me. To attempt to preserve your self is to believe the ancient lie. You've seen the truth now, Lee, so leave the lie behind. Chuck Banas, Yucca Valley, California
Scripture Reference: Ephesians 4:29-32 MSG
Chuck, the words of man sound wonderful. They promise the world which isn't theirs to give. Bringing false hope to the soul, man will say anything that sounds good to the ears of the hearer. But life is not based on idle words and false hopes. It is based on the fruitful life of the speaker. It is based on the integrity and the character of the man himself. Life is tested by time and time reveals the true heart of he who speaks.
My word is in you, Chuck, so you check yourself in all you say. The words you speak reveal the identity you are living from. Be slow to speak. Considering the cost of your every word will keep you from regretting that which you do. Good, encouraging, uplifting conversations produce life and generate who I am in your midst while foolish words and sad stories only tear down the hopes of others. Stay awake to that which you hear. Be an example by letting only the good that lives in you come out of you. Susan Mucklow, Yucca Valley, California
Scripture Reference: Hebrews 4:12 MSG
Susan, listen so that you might understand. Deep within lie the answers to every question you will ever formulate. The formulation of the question proves the existence of its corresponding answer. I inspire true questions, the kind that will generate a determination to find their answers. True questions always meet their counterpart; they attract the answers that complete them. Did you know that doubt is nothing to fear? Doubt is not the nemesis of the Christian faith - unbelief is. Doubt is merely that which spurs you inward. It is the opposing force of faith and its purpose is to strengthen faith's muscle.
Do not deny your doubts. Explore them freely. I will turn each doubt (which is vague by its very nature) into a well-defined question that will go after the answer it was intended to find. Doubt that has the freedom to be expressed is fashioned into a valuable question - a question whose answer is crucial to your advancement. To explore a doubt is to free yourself from religious responses regarding your faith. Doubt that is disallowed is silenced by religious jargon and will eventually cause you to suspicion My very nature. Do not fear doubt but rather express it. Let Me use it to lead you to the questions and answers that will establish unshakeable faith and prosper your soul. Doubt leads to questions, questions lead to answers, answers lead to understanding, understanding leads to faith, and faith always leads to Me. Be still, listen, and do not fear what you hear. What is filtered up from the spirit will never be unrelated to the questions you've been asking or the answers that you need.
I have purposefully placed Myself at the heart of every question. Doubt that is properly followed through on will lead a man to Me. A doubt explored will prove My existence time and again. The heart that wants to know truth will know Me. True hearts seek truth over their own opinions and interpretations, and will question the opinions and interpretations of the day. True hearts seek truth over the lie, reality over illusion. Fear nothing Susan, for I will never mislead you. Everything works together for the good when the heart knows it no longer needs to hide or deny its doubts. Bring every question, doubt, and fear to a place of naked honesty. In so doing you allow Me to guide them to faith before they have the chance to make the fatal turn towards unbelief. I love you, Susan, and will absorb every doubt with the understanding that waits to set you free.
Lord, YOU are exploring ME, Your word accomplishing Your will in me. Doubt is a gateway to greater understanding...I will allow each one to complete its cycle, to fulfill its purpose, to fight for its righteous cause.
