Thanks for the scriptural reminder that we don’t have to make the Kingdom seed grow! We look to: “His Word; our water. To Him; our nourishment. His Kingdom; our focus. And to every moment and every event of our lives; our awareness.”

I also love Jaque’s reminder that we are included in what He’s already done!

Spiritual growth can take more time than we can possibly imagine. It takes time for vision to find its correct focus. I fix my gaze as I repeatedly return my trust to God’s successful work and my happy inclusion therein! In time, yes, even “barren platitudes come alive; words that used to feel like law, feel like grace; and obedience flows from love.”

Merton said, “most of these unnumbered seeds (of spiritual vitality) perish and are lost, because men are not prepared to receive them. For such seeds as these cannot spring up anywhere except in the good soil of freedom, spontaneity and love.”

Interesting that the preparation that is lacking is freedom, spontaneity and love…

This is so good: “When this becomes the cry of your heart, barren platitudes will eventually come alive to you. Words that used to feel like law, will feel like grace. Obedience will flow from love. You will discover that you were made for this; for glorifying God, for housing the life of God within you, for resting in the endless joy of knowing Him.”

If we abide in His love, rehearsing, remembering and reiterating over and over who He is, what He’s done, and how we are included, even “barren platitudes” will explode within our being. A few days ago I was praising Him (again) for the “ease” of obedience that comes from knowing how very loved I am. I’m therefore more eager to advance His expressions of love towards others. I know I was made for this. Endless joy is my experience. Thanks for posting; I’m refreshed.

I am so excited about the class (LOL, but also hoping l can operate through the forum and internet, cause I’m still in the process of knowing the computer better), especially after hearing Jaque’s “Orentation” to the class. This class being offered during this season my friend, is God’s perfect timing for where I am in my walk with Him. Please thank everyone involved including yourself, for excepting my proposal to finally take a visionwriter class.

“Abandoning our attention to Him, the value and amount of concern given to others comes easily. Then any person may state his or her request or opinion and we habitually ask, “Lord, what do you think?” We desire nothing less than God’s opinion in every matter because we love Him, and of course we know that He is not separate from us.”

And then this part:
“Do I understand that in being made one with Him I am His love in action?”

I love taking these truths and reversing them to show truth from the other direction. Truth is truth from all directions! So, I am His love in action…and He is my love in action. The love that I feel and the compassion I extend, the acts of kindness and service that I cannot avoid…this is Him, living as me. It is so natural!

Life is becoming such a joy! Truly His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

I love your conclusion: “But, once I understand that He is all I need, and that His will and timing are perfect, it wouldn’t even matter if He didn’t give me what I originally sought. If it’s not from Him, I don’t want it anyway.”

It’s been so long since I read this story; it was grand to revisit it through your eyes. It inspires me again to the same conclusion; I trust the Lord’s timing; He is working everything for the highest good of all. it “has” to be as He wills.
