Sara McDaniel – President
Originally from the United Kingdom, Sara immigrated to the United States over 20 years ago. With her husband and two children and immersed in the lifestyle of a military home schooling family, Sara has lived in many parts of the US and overseas. Visionwriters courses have been her lifeline and anchor to God. Sara has been passionate about Visionwriters since hearing Jaque’s message at a retreat in Hawaii in 1992. The Lord prompted Sara to become a Visionkeeper in 2003. Currently serving as president of the ministry, she brings her experience as a long-time student and facilitator of Visionwriter’s classes. Sara’s current goal is to walk step-by-step, and even to run, on the road God has placed her on, allowing Him to accomplish His work and bring forth His fruit on the earth.
Steve and Kathy Schinhofen – Treasurer and Vice President
An upbringing in broken, alcoholic families had a drastic affect on Steve and Kathy Schinhofen – and left no concept for healthy relationships. Desperate, the Lord supplied two primary sources of mentorship and spiritual guidance – Visionwriters International and American Family Living. Hearing God in intimate dialogue taught them how to talk to one another, to fight fairly, to disagree agreeably and to forgive. God’s Word came alive and transformed their marriage. Kathy teaches our courses and she and Steve teach a weekly marriage class in their church. As valued board members of Visionwriters International, Assistant Directors of American Family Living, and Pastoral Counselors, their practical skills for strengthening marriage are widely received.
Michael and Fawn Stephens – Advisor and Secretary
Michael and Fawn Stephens enjoyed the blessings of a Christian upbringing. Their spiritual journey as adults culminated into a deep rooted passion to live in unity with Christ and His Holy Spirit. This passion developed into a desire to see others find the same joy and peace by living as God intended, entrenched in His presence and able to hear His voice. Married in 2003, Michael and Fawn are the parents of four children. Michael is retired Navy, and the Director of men’s ministries at his church. Fawn is involved in women’s ministries leadership at their church in addition to serving as the Office Manager for Visionwriters International. Both Michael and Fawn are impressive helicopter pilots with a vision to be aviation missionaries within 5-10 years.
Jaque Shank – Founder and Spiritual Director
The founder and Spiritual Director of Visionwriters International, Jaque Banas married Glen Shank in January of 2009. More than two years after her husband Chuck passed away, she became Jaque Shank. Jaque and Glen live in Abilene Kansas. Chuck and Jaque Banas established, supported and enjoyed the structure that many Vision-writers enjoy today. Now Glen and Jaque Shank continue to support and enjoy what Visionwriters Int’l offers. Jaque still writes, speaks and trains others to “stand in the tower—a higher post of observation—as they wait to see and write what God wants to say from within them.”
